Jean demonstrates as she teaches specific guidelines for being aligned when sleeping on your back. When the spine is aligned it takes undue pressure off the discs so the spine heals as you sleep. When the spine is aligned the muscles of the back release tension so the back can relax. Jean also gives directions on how to align the shoulders, arms, and hands.. Special care is given to the neck with directions for the optimal height of the pillow and how to deal with a swayback by sloping the pillow. Following these directions increases comfort and sets the stage for a good night’s sleep.
