1-1 Balance Session
If you want an individual assessment about your pain or your posture, this is the place to begin. In this personalized session, you’ll have the opportunity to explain your concerns and for Jean to get you started so you feel the relief possible from the Balance guidelines. This gives you a taste of how different Balance is from conventional directions. You will know a lot more about your body and how to take care of yourself immediately.
In person in the San Francisco Bay Area, or virtually. Half hour or hour session.
Jean teaches 1-1 sessions. Pricing is $150/hour (30 minutes or 1 hour visit). She’s doing them at her home and via zoom. To schedule a session, click on the button below and state your date preferences and time of day you’re thinking. Jean will respond in 24-48 hours.

In this introductory class, you’ll learn how to put your pelvis (butt) on your chair so your skeleton is more aligned. It’s truly simple but it will be new, different from how you usually sit. The best part is that you’ll have a way to sit that is doable and comfortable. The same guidelines that take your pain away also straighten your posture. Give it a try, see for yourself.
Foundation Course
The Foundations Course is for anyone who wants to learn the basic guidelines that reduce pain and dramatically improve your posture. Over the 3 live classes, we will focus on sitting, standing, bending, walking, lying on the side and back. Throughout the course, you will receive individual feedback so the course is specific to your body and your needs.
Weekly Coaching
Join me live to address your Balance questions, Friday mornings at 9 am (PT, noon ET). Most answers are provided by practice so I can see what you are doing. If you are wondering if you are doing Balance “right” here’s your opportunity to get guidance.

Balance Certification Training
Four times a year, Jean offers 8 students a 30 hour course on learning the anatomy, guidelines and the practice of Balance. This course is designed for people who have a desire to teach these principles to others. Jean teaches her students how to see the difference between Balanced and out of Balanced bodies. This is also for people who don’t necessarily have a desire to teach, but who want a comprehensive, in depth experience of Balance. The course is taught virtually over Zoom and is an interactive experience with Jean and other students.
What You’ll Learn:
- The aspects of human anatomy that specifically apply to Balance
- To open your eyes to perceive the characteristics of Balance in each person
- To use specific Balance principles to eliminate your own tightness, pain and discomfort
- To practice the new guidelines you’ve learned for every position so they become second nature
- The practice of Balance and how to be aware of your body from moment to moment
Yoga Classes
As the author of, “The Runner’s Yoga Book” (in print since 1979), Jean has an extensive background in teaching yoga. For years, this book was the #1 recommended yoga book for beginners by the Yoga Journal.

Jean’s goal is to teach you yoga so you never get injured. Jean teaches you how to understand and practice each pose so you have a protective informational basis for safety. Each class theme can vary.
Here are some examples of popular yoga class themes:- Forward and back bending

- Standing and reclining poses
Yoga Class: 4 week live, virtual course on Zoom (2 hours per class). There is no limit to the amount of people who can register for this call. Jean teaches and demonstrates for safe practice and the release of tension and stress.
Yoga Class with Individual Feedback: This 4 week live, virtual course on Zoom (2 hours per class) includes Jean’s individual feedback and is limited to only 8 people.
Balance Center Workshops
Jean teaches workshops on topics that:
- need time, anywhere from two hours to day-long,
- have been requested by a student,
- Jean gets the notion she wants to explore a topic more thoroughly.
Topics vary from Yoga in Balance to Remobilizing Feet, to Safe Hamstring Stretches, etc. Check the calendar for upcoming topics, date, and time. If enrollment is limited sign up immediately to assure your attendance.
Corporate Seminars
Anything is possible. These seminars are custom designed according to the need of the client. They vary from one-hour sessions on Sitting Comfortably at the Computer, to full week-end courses, to weekly courses addressing the needs of the participants.
